Some weeks are just ass. Simple as that. Some days are seriously not worth getting up for. Some days I don’t want to see people. People are just big asses. (spot the word of the day). Some days it just seems like everything is on top of me. One thing after another. Drama followed by more drama. Some days I feel like I’ve let everyone in my life down. Or boosting others up, who just simply don’t deserve it. Some days I feel like I’m fighting for what’s fair in life, what’s right. And I feel like I shouldn’t have to fight. And sometimes it’s hard to find the energy to fight. Sometimes I just want to sit there and cry ‘but life should be fair”. Some days I’m watching my trust crumble. Watching a person I once loved, squash my belief, that I trusted the right thing would be done. And I’m sad. That trust is the only thing left between us. And now it’s gone. Some days I have to wash my big girl panties. Some days I have to slip them on, knowing that it’s gonna be a bumpy day. Some days I hide them under my..

When my kids grow up and leave home, they will be able to look after themselves. At the tender ages of 6 and 8, they know how to make their bed, vacuum, fold their clothes and put them away, put washing in the machine, wash dishes, fill a dishwasher, make meals, among numerous other taks. They’re not doing jobs because they have to earn their keep, or because we’re too lazy to do them. We aren’t being mean, giving them jobs, jobs are simply part of teaching them how to be adults. And that’s our jobs, to teach them. And when it comes time for them to leave home, and move out on their own, I’ll smile through my tears, knowing that we gave them the best start to being independent that we could.

The children are at school, the hubby is at work, the cat is fed. The house is suitably quiet. Ahhh… I make my way into the bathroom, shut the door, turn the shower on, and watch the steam rising. Soon thereafter I am standing in the hot water, watching the water cascade to the plughole. What was that noise? I’m sure I heard something. I stand still, my breathing sounding so loud, as I prick my ears up, and turn my head in the direction of the sound. Is that someone coming up the stairs? OMG, I’m about to be murdered in my own home. I get out, leaving the water running, and grab a towel. I open the door as quietly as I can, and sneak out into the hallway. I look around cautiously, and realise I can’t see a damn thing, as I forgot to put my glasses on. I go back into the bathroom, and put my glasses on. They immediately steam up. I walk out into the hallway, glancing into the bedrooms as I pass, I finally make it to the stairwell. Every hair on my body is standing up, I hear a thump, and jump in..

So ‘fat’, the word, has negative connotations. Fat: Having a large amount of excess flesh. Yup. Got that. Of course, my body uses fat as a fuel source, and fat is the major storage form of energy in the body. So really, I’m full of energy, right? I knew from very young that being fat was not a good thing. Mum was always on diets. Dad always criticized me for being fat. I was called names in school And it’s funny. I’ve been fat for as long as I can remember. Just like I have white skin, or hazel eyes, I’m fat, it’s the same thing. I’m trying to accept that, and get on with it. I’m fat.

Ingredients Pastry Fruit (I used apple but have used tinned fruit too, whatever you have really) Butter White Chocolate Milk or cream Flavouring etc (I used some cinnamon and some brown sugar) Icing sugar Method First of all you need to lovingly are carefully mix, kneed and roll your pastry. A rich butter danish pastry is ideal. It should be cool but not frozen. Next you cut the pastry into the required number of pieces, brush with butter and sprinkle some flavouring on if desired. Next add fuit. Carefully seal the edges and fold into consistent shapes, presentation is important! (to some) Brush the out side with melted butter too. Then bake at 180C for about 1/2 an hour. Dust with icing sugar. Mix your chocolate with a little splash of cream or milk and carefully melt in a double boiler (posh talk for about 20 seconds in the microwave) Mix well until it’s consistent then pipe it on to your danish with a piping bag, carefully making a consistent drizzling effect. Or, just shove it on with a fork. Leave to cool a little and serve warm, or at least try not to burn your self on the hot..

I discovered a blog, which is written by a ‘fat bitch’ (quote from her site – honest!) She runs a How to be a fat bitch course. I have decided I am going to join in.So course 1 says Write down 5 things that you are going to do that make you happy. This has taken a fair bit of thinking on my part. These aren’t things to change my life, or things for my Bucket List, but just simply things to make me happy. Make a short skirt. Wear it with tights and high heel boots. I love this look, but don’t do it, as it’s for skinny girls. Dye my hair. I keep wanting too – and putting it off. There’s always something else to do that should be done first. Get another job. I had a temp job for a while, and loved it – so keen to get back into another job. I do have an interview next week, so who knows, maybe that’s the job for me! Write a post about being fat. More importantly that ‘fat is not an insult‘. At this point, I got stuck. I asked hubby for ideas. His suggestion “Seduce..

I got some boots off Trade Me, that I just love. They are Kumfs, a great brand, and in really good condition. I am in love with them! It was a bit of a step out of my comfort zone, as I don’t normally wear brown shoes, so it’s neat to have something new in my wardrobe!

As is my way, this was adapted based on what I had in the kitchen. The recipe I used as a base used pretzels, but I didn’t have any. Ingredients: 1c Cruskit crumbs (put them in a bag and sic a child with a rolling pin on ‘em) 1c Break crumbs 1/2c Dijon Mustard 1/3c Honey 3T Red Wine Vinegar 1/2c Flour 1/2c Oil 1/4c Water Veges (pretty much any thing you’d like – I used some leek, frozen peas, celery) Seasoning for the veges (I used salt, pepper and parmesan) Chicken breasts Method Mix all the veges in a sauce pan and cook together with a little oil till warm through but not limp. Mix the crumbs in a pan and toast Mix the mustard, honey, vinegar, oil, water and salt and pepper (to taste) well Sic the afore mentioned child with rolling pin on the chicken breasts, flatten them Set up a dish with the flour, a dish with half your sauce and a dish with the crumb mix Coat the chicken breasts one by one in the flour, then the sauce, then the crumb mix Put the veges in the bottom of a casserole dish then put the chicken on a top..
